About the Jaguar X-Type
The X-Type marked the British manufacturer’s contender within the compact executive class – a car to rival the likes of the BMW 3 series. Produced from 1991, it was the first compact luxury vehicle from Jaguar since the Mark 2 in 1959. Initially only available as a saloon with all-wheel drive and built around a modified Ford Mondeo platform, the Jaguar X-Type was later available as an estate and then in Sport Premium and Sovereign trims. Production of the X-Type ended in 2009.
