About the Volvo V50
A compact family estate car, the Volvo V50 was launched in 2003 as a replacement for the V40. It is not a typical estate, offering a gentler perhaps more sports-focused design, whilst still being a practical and safe drive with a five star EuroNCAP rating. Based on the Ford C1 platform, shared with the Ford Focus, the Volvo V50 is a capable performer and has undergone upgrades throughout the years including new five-cylinder diesel engines and trim levels including the R-Design Sport and R-design SE Sport models. The Volvo V50 was discontinued in 2012.
