Van & Car Brake Caliper replacement

Brake callipers are an essential part of your car's braking system. Most cars today are fitted with brake discs on the front wheels and many cars now also have brake discs attached to the rear wheels. When a car is fitted with a brake disc the wheels are attached via metal rotors. What the brake calliper does is create friction with the wheel rotor, therefore slowing the car down. The brake calliper acts like a clamp over the rotor and when you press your foot down onto the brake pedal, brake fluid is released which then creates hydraulic pressure in the pistons within the brake calliper. This then forces the brake pads against the rotor. As a result, this high friction slows the rotor down, which in turn slows the wheel as it is attached to it. It is also important to know that there are two types of callipers: floating and fixed so be sure to purchase the correct one for your car.
