About the Land Rover Discovery
This upmarket seven seater 4x4 has been around since 1989 and offers off-road capabilities to drivers around the world. The first generation of the Land Rover Discovery was primarily based on the chassis of its bigger brother, the Range Rover, and was only offered as a three door model until its five door variant became available in 1990. It had a different purpose to the stately Range Rover though, in that it was intended to bring 4x4 capabilities to a wider audience. The Discovery was a rival to match the SUV’s emerging onto the market from the likes of Suzuki and Toyota and was less of a utilitarian vehicle, more a commercial one.
