About Mitsubishi Car Gearboxes
With such a wide range of vehicles in the Mitsubishi catalogue, from stylish, city cars like the Mirage to the widely recognised 4x4 Shogun, Mitsubishi manufacture a wealth of gearboxes. From fully and semi-automatic to continuously variable transmission, which are mandatory on four-wheel drive models with a 1.5L petrol engine, some of the most popular Mitsubishi gearboxes are the INVECS type, encorporating electronic automatic transmission technology as seen in the Galant. Although production ended in 1990 with the discontinuation of the Tredia and Cordia series , the Super Shift Transmission was used in many of Mitsubishi's road cars during the eighties offering eight forward speeds in a 4x2 arrangement.
