Exhaust Back Boxes replacement
An exhaust back box or exhaust rear silencer, as they are sometimes referred to, is installed as part of the exhaust system in most cars, although interestingly it does not serve any function in ridding the car of exhaust fumes. Its purpose is to serve as a soundproofing device only to reduce the sound and vibrations created by the engine so that you have a quieter running car. The sound pressure created by the engine is usually due to the car using the same pipes as the silent exhaust gases so even though noise is reduced, one side effect which cannot be eliminated is that there may be an increase in back pressure which in turn can decrease the engine's efficiency. This is because the exhaust gases share the same exit as the sound pressure that is being eliminated. So you really have to consider if having a quieter car is important to you.
