Oil Pan replacement
The sump on a car is designed to collect the waste 'solutions' rejected by the engine. It is also referred to as an oil sump, although in the US it is called the Oil Pan. The 'solutions' captured by the sump could be anything from oil to water. The solutions can leak out sometimes when the car is carrying out sharp movements or is moving quickly. This type of part is needed on every vehicle, not just a standard car.
If the car seems to be leaking oil then the sump should be checked, although there may be other explanations too. If the sump is found to have a leak then occasionally a weld repair may be enough but it is always advised to have a replacement part fitted for peace of mind.
