About Dacia Cars

Dacia was first founded in Romania in 1966. The Renault Group bought the Romanian company Dacia in September 1999. Through shared teamwork technology and production methods, Renault has helped Dacia to become a global presence in its own right, selling nearly just under 350,000 vehicles worldwide in 2011 and a further 1.8 million since 2004.

Dacia now has production facilities across the world, which includes Romania and Morocco. The UK versions of Dacia Duster will be built at the Renault-Nissan Alliance factory in Chennai, India Dacia cars use proven technology from its Renault-Nissan Alliance. This may be why Dacia finished in second place, just behind Audi, in the 2010 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Survey, in Germany most recently. In 2011, Dacia was also voted 'Europe's Most Reliable Car Brand' in a survey of approximately 28,000 car owners across 5 Euro countries France, Spain Italy, Portugal and Belgium.
