Driveshafts replacement
A driveshaft is situated on cars with a rear wheel drive and most four-wheel drive vehicles. Also known as a propeller shaft, this part of the mechanical system translates the force generated by the engine into a usable motion force, which enables the vehicle to move more powerfully. The driveshaft is tubular in design and is encased in metal. Its job is to spin at a frequency that is determined by the engine output. A vehicle may also have more than one driveshaft. In a modern rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicle, a Hotchkiss drive system incorporates a driveshaft that runs the entire length of the car. In essence, the driveshaft transfers power to the wheels of the vehicle. What is important to know is that any failure with the driveshaft could immediately stop your car, damaging the engine and braking system. Therefore regular checks are a good idea as well as regular servicing to make sure that the driveshaft is working safely and effectively.
