Van & Car Exhaust replacement
Car exhaust systems are made up of several parts, each with its own job. The tailpipe is the part that comes out from under the rear bumper and reaches almost the full length of the car. It is curved to suit each model of car, as different cars have different chassis types. Attached to the tailpipe is the muffler. When gases move through the exhaust the muffler works to reduce the resonance. Exhaust pipes are fitted to the catalytic converter, of which there are 2 types. There is a pellet catalytic converter and a monolithic converter.
The pellet-type converter has beads inside that the exhaust gases pass through; the monolithic type has a ceramic block that the gases pass through. There is also a Y-pipe that can turn one pipe into two, or two into one, thus reducing the need to have 2 catalytic converters and two mufflers on vehicles that need two exhaust systems.
