The boot lid is always at the opposite end of the engine. In most models, this is located at the back of the car, but in a small number of vehicles, the engine is in the back, therefore the boot is at the front of the car. The boot is a place in the car that's used for storage. Sometimes the car's spare tyre can be found in a lower cavity under the carpet in the boot.
It is important to make sure that the boot is securely closed when in use, as it could fly open while driving, blocking the view of vehicles behind.
