Headlamps replacement
The headlamp is the main light of the car. It is directed towards the road, to make driving in the dark or in poorer light conditions much safer. Every car must have headlamps as a legal requirement. If planning to travel at night, it is important to test the lights to make sure none of the bulbs have blown. The police are authorised to stop vehicles with faulty lights and take further action if they deem it necessary. In practical terms, this could mean a fine or an order to fix the problem before the vehicle is allowed to continue its journey.
Headlights have both a high and a low beam. The low beam is the standard light to be used on any road where there is oncoming traffic. It is good road etiquette that if driving on a dark road and using the high beam, at the first sign of an oncoming vehicle, change back to the low beam, as the high beam can dazzle the driver heading in the opposite direction.
